There’s been a ton of speculation about Sidney Crosby’s concussion, including a World Cup Of Hockey cover-up conspiracy. Like Frankie, I say relax.
Bob McKenzie’s Twitter feed is always full of good information, and in this case it’s no different. Some see Sidney Crosby now as just a fragile little walking concussion in human form and any little accident can set him off. One tweet does cause some concern:
As you can see, it was tweeted on October 10 at 2:55 pm, or on Monday. That means he wasn’t diagnosed for three days. How could they miss this? How could they let him run around concussed for that long and not know?
I guess I give the Pens staff too much credit, but I’m going to go ahead and assume when he wasn’t feeling well Saturday they did their due diligence. A couple of other tweets from Monday suggest they’re not actually not dealing with it, but instead maybe just don’t want to say too much.
Crosby himself seems to be handling the situation very well.
These tweets were just issued today. The Penguins organization seems to be very much on top of the situation.
As fans I hope we have faith that if heads do need to roll the organization will make it happen in due time. But I really hope this is one time we can apply the same faith and wait for a small amount of factual information to trickle out slowly rather than press the conveniently located panic button.
